Standing Bear Pow Wow

Today was the 24th Annual Pow Wow, for 6 Indian Nations.  It was held at the Standing Bear Park.
The Kaw Nation, the Osage Nation, the Otoe-Missouria Tribe, the Pawnee Tribe, the Ponca Nation, and the Tonkawa Tribe.   Its a time to share the  native culture, and the history and heritage of Oklahoma.

We arrived about 5:00 pm thinking the Pow Wow was ongoing, lot of people were just starting to arrive.   It did not start until 7:30 pm.  We enjoyed what we saw!

This young lady is also in the Jingle Dance.

We left before the Pow Wow started, Elder Gibson was done for the day!
I am sure that more native costume's were in attendance they just had not arrived yet.
We had a wonderful time listening to the drums, and the chanting that took place before we left.
