Binney & Smith Crayola Maker

Winfield is one of the homes of Binney & Smith Co.  The creator's of Crayola Crayon.
1952 to 1997 the company ran a business in Winfield, Kansas.
The Cowley County Historical Museum had a nice display about the company.

In 1885 Joseph Binney retired, his son Edwin and nephew C. Harold Smith 

formed the partnership of Binney & Smith.

The company's product line expanded to include shoe polish, printing ink and black crayons.
