Tallgrass Prairie Preserve

As we are preparing to return to Navasota Ranch, in Waco, Texas.  I wanted to visit the bison and the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, one last time.  It was fun to venture out and see the bison and deer on the preserve.

I have truly enjoyed seeing the Bison
sometimes they are close today was a good day to see them.

Walk at Little Chief

As the Elder's worked, I went for a walk around the Little Chief Camp.
The limestone is covered in fossilized roots, and shells.

The creek has washed away the excess exposing the fossilized roots

fossilized shells and mollusk imbedded in the roots.

The fall leaves are gone, preparing for winter.

hardy little flower making an appearance.

even the dirt has been fossilized, layers of mud.

Large leaf, the size of a dinner plate.

This little frog has yet to hibernate.
